A Little History Founded in 1991 Mary Reilly and artist Linda Parker opened Creative Brush Studio, providing them with a place to paint, display art, and meet with customers. Five years later Creative Brush moved to Historic Downtown Manassas, and after being with Creative Brush for approximately 15 years, Linda left to seek new adventures and now currently resides in Israel. Mary's daughter, Christine, began painting and teaching at Creative Brush in 2006. In November 2017 Creative Brush moved to its current location at 8951 Center Street, Manassas, and in 2020 Christine decided to rent the space next door. As co-owners of Creative Brush Studio, knocking down a wall, they joined the two locations together. However, it wasn't long before Christine discovered that her heart is not indoors painting in a studio, but rather plein air painting in fields, parks, beaches, and mountains. When it was time to renew each of their leases Christine made the decision to take her studio to the great outdoors, while Mary, preferring an indoor studio, decided to remain at 8951 Center St where she continues at Creative Brush painting, displaying her work, and sharing her knowledge of oil painting with others. Additionally Mary provides studio space to artists interested in being part of the Creative Brush community. Today Today Creative Brush is the working studio and display gallery of Mary and six resident artists. Painting at Creative Brush, Mary and the resident artists create original fine art for both the home and office, in subjects and styles from realism to fantasy. In addition to a variety of paintings on display of landscapes, local and regional scenes, wild life, still-lifes, and portraiture, Creative Brush artists also accept requests for custom paintings specializing in portraits of people and pets.
